BABYMONSTER's Rapid Rise in Japan:
YG Entertainment's "monster rookies," BABYMONSTER, are quickly gaining traction in Japan. The group is cementing its position as a top girl group by appearing on Japan's leading terrestrial music shows, known as "music programs."
According to YG Entertainment, BABYMONSTER will kick off their appearances on November 29th with a live performance on TV Asahi's 'Music Station.' They will then feature on NHK's 'VENUE101' on November 30th, followed by Fuji TV's 'Weekly Ninety-Nine Music' on December 11th. These shows are considered Japan's "Big 3" music programs, similar to South Korea's "Big 4" music shows, including Mnet.
During these broadcasts, BABYMONSTER will demonstrate their live vocal skills, which have become their signature, using handheld microphones. They will perform songs from their newly released first full-length album 'DRIP,' singing entirely in Korean to emphasize their unique appeal.
BABYMONSTER's debut album has seen remarkable success not only in South Korea but also in major K-pop markets like Japan and North America. In Japan, they topped the iTunes "Top Albums Chart" and the real-time Top 100 Albums Chart on Line Music, the country's largest streaming platform. In North America, the group has remained on the Billboard charts for three consecutive weeks.
Starting early next year, BABYMONSTER will embark on their first world tour, beginning at Seoul's KSPO Dome and extending to North America and Japan.
